An industrial approach to value creation
Through a long history of repeat investing across our five core sectors and by taking a hands-on approach to our investments, PAI is able to build better companies with significant strategic value for future owners.
Long term investing across core sectors
PAI has always applied a sector-based approach to investment, focusing on five core industries. This strategy has enabled PAI to develop extensive transaction and sectorial expertise in Consumer Goods, Retail & Distribution, Business Services, General Industrials and Healthcare. Furthermore, through long-term investing across these five sectors, PAI has cultivated in-depth relationships with many industry players, advisers and management teams.
This industrial network, coupled with in-depth investment experience, assists in the sourcing of differentiated investments across Europe and makes PAI a natural partner for companies that are at a transformational point in their development, requiring an ambitious, active shareholder.
Strategic value creation
Through its investments, PAI strives to fundamentally improve the businesses that it owns, increasing both their profitability and long term strategic value. PAI's sector knowledge and longer-term hands-on approach to investment enables the creation of strategic value which in turn secures premium valuations when an investment is sold. Within our portfolio companies, brand development, geographic expansion, new product development and capacity expansion are supported through investment in R&D, marketing, new facilities and acquisitions. Proceeds from cost savings and disposals are systematically reinvested to drive growth. As a result of these initiatives, PAI has consistently sold a high proportion of its portfolio companies to trade buyers at superior valuations across financial market cycles.
