Capital Goods

The Capital Goods sector focuses its investment activity in sectors where PAI has developed deep knowledge through past and current investments. PAI has established a large network of high quality contacts assisting in the initiation of transactions. This includes paper & packaging, automotive, aeronautics, electrical appliances, household equipment (heating, air-conditioning, security), specialty chemicals and other capital goods.

In general industrials, PAI has been active in all segments of the Packaging sector. It has completed the buyouts of Mivisa (the #1 metal packaging manufacturer for the food industry in Spain) and Global Closure Systems (a world leading designer and manufacturer of plastic closures for consumer packaging). PAI also managed Paribas' stake in Pochet (the worldwide leader of glass bottling for perfumery) as well as companies in the board packaging industry such as La Rochette/RCO, Packart and Allardi (folding carton for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries) and many plastic packaging groups (such as Guillin).

PAI has also led several buyouts in the Automotive sector including the acquisition of FTE (the worldwide leader in design and production of clutch actuation components and systems for cars and light vehicles) and Michel Thierry (the leading manufacturer of fabrics for automotive seats in Europe). PAI also managed stakes in leading automotive groups such as Valeo (components), MGI Coutier (plastic components), Reydel Industries (plastic trims for cars) and Montupet (aluminium castings).
In the Aerospace sector, PAI led the acquisition of Latecoere (structural parts for planes).

PAI managed Paribas' shareholdings in leading industrial groups, notably in the equipment and advanced materials sectors, such as Groupe Fives Lille (cement, sugar, steel and automotive industry equipment). PAI has also managed a significant stake in Carbone Lorraine (carbon based components) and companies in heating (CICH) and safety (Fichet Bauche and Securidev: locks, keys and safety systems).

In specialty chemicals, PAI has completed the buyout of Perstorp (the world leader in added value ingredients for the paint, resins and coatings industries).
