Meet the team
Maud Brown
Partner
Maud joined PAI in 2019 and heads PAI’s US Team. She has been involved in the Refresco, Alphia and Tropicana Brands Group transactions.
She was previously with Investcorp where she spent more than 18 years in London and New York, most recently as a Managing Director in New York and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. She started her career in M&A at Salomon Brothers and Merrill Lynch in London.
Maud graduated from ESCP and holds a Master’s in Corporate Law from the University Paris XI.
Livia Carega
Managing Director
Livia joined PAI in 2024 as a Managing Director in the Client & Capital Group based in New York City. Livia is responsible for leading PAI’s CCG efforts in North America and South America.
Livia brings extensive experience to PAI from nearly a decade in the Client & Product Solutions team at Apollo Global Management in New York, where she was responsible for investor relationships in Canada and the Northeast. She started her career in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs in London and also spent time as an investment analyst at The Wellcome Trust. Most recently, she was a senior member of the capital raising team at Tiger Global in New York.
Livia earned her BA from Harvard College and her MBA from Columbia Business School.
Liza Cathcart
Associate
Liza joined PAI in 2025 as a member of the Investor Team in the Client & Capital Group.
She joined from Grafine Partners, where she spent three years on the Investor Relations Team. Liza started her career as a Corporate Paralegal at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
Liza graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia, with a major in Political Philosophy, Policy and Law.
Valentin Eischen
Investment Director
Valentin joined PAI in 2022 as a member of the Investment Group. He has been involved in the NovaTaste investment.
He started his career at Naxicap Partners where he spent two years working on several acquisition processes in various sectors.
Prior to this, Valentin interned at Rothschild & Co in M&A and at PAI where he was involved in the Ecotone transaction.
Valentin holds a Master’s Degree in Management from EM Lyon Business School.
Matthew Jones
Investment Associate
Matthew joined PAI in 2024 as a member of the Investment Group.
He joined from Evercore where he spent two years as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Industrials Group.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Business Analytics from Villanova University.
Joe Kang
Investment Director
Joe joined PAI in 2024 as a member of the Investment Group and US Team.
He was previously at H.I.G. Capital, where he spent 9 years as an investor for the Middle Market private equity strategy in New York, focusing on investments across various industries. His experience at H.I.G. includes a 12-month secondment at a portfolio company in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to H.I.G., Joe began his career as an analyst at Rothschild in New York.
Joe holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
Gabriel Rich
Investment Associate
Gabriel joined PAI in 2025 as a member of the Investment Group.
He joined from PJT Partners, where he worked as an Investment Banking Analyst for two years. Prior to that, he completed an internship in the Financial Sponsor Group at Credit Suisse.
Gabriel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from UCLA.
Trevor Ryan
Principal
Trevor joined PAI in 2017. He is a member of the Food & Consumer Team and the US Team. He has been involved in the Alphia, Froneri, Refresco and Tropicana Brands Group transactions.
Previously, Trevor was an associate at Water Street Healthcare Partners, a Chicago-based middle market private equity firm. Prior to joining Water Street, he was an investment banking analyst in the healthcare group at Citi in New York.
Trevor holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in Economics.
