All about cookies

What are cookies?

A Cookie is a piece of information in the form of a small text file that can be stored on the browser or hard drive of your computer, tablet, smartphone or other device when you visit our Site, to the extent you agree where required.

Cookies are not computer programmes. They cannot be executed as code and they cannot access the hard drive. Also, they cannot be used to disseminate viruses. They only contain and transfer to the server as much information as the users themselves have disclosed to the Site.

You can find more information at www.allaboutcookies.org and www.youronlinechoices.eu.

What is the purpose of cookies?

Cookies are essentials and customisers. They are used to identify and to “remember” users and users’ preferences, ensure a consistent and efficient experience for visitors and perform essential functions such as allowing users to navigate our Site, set the language settings, display the correct page for the device they are using.

Cookies also enable us to monitor and to analyse how users navigate and utilise our Site, which pages they find useful and which they do not so that we can tailor the Site to users’ needs.

They are also used to control access to certain content on our Site, protect the Site, and to process any requests that users make to us.

What type of cookies do we use?

“First party Cookies” are cookies that belong to PAI and that PAI places on your device.  They are generally used to identify language and location preferences or render basic Site functionalities.

“Third-party Cookies” are cookies that another party places on your device through our Site. PAI uses, for example, a third-party analytics tool provider (Piwik PRO) to help measure and improve the effectiveness of our Site. Such third-party service provider may place Cookies on the devices of the Site users.

“Session Cookies” are temporary and deleted from your computer or device when your web browser closes. We use Session Cookies to help us track the Site usage.

“Persistent Cookies” are used to remember your preferences within the Site and remain on your computer or device even after you close your browser or restart your computer until deleted or until they reach their expiry date. We use Persistent Cookies to improve your experience of using the Site. This includes recording your acknowledgement of our Cookie Policy to remove the Cookie message which first appears when you use the Site.

Why is PAI Partners using cookies?

PAI uses Cookies for the following purposes:

Cookie type: Strictly Necessary/Technical Cookies
Purpose: These cookies are necessary to allow us to operate our Site so you may access them as you have requested. Disabling these cookies will encumber performance and may make the Site and features unavailable. These cookies, for example, are used to collect session ID and authentication data. They also include cookies that enable us to remember your previous actions within the same browsing session and secure our Site. Strictly Necessary Cookies are “session cookies”, which expire when you close your browser session.

Cookie type: Functionality Cookies
Purpose: These Cookies let us operate the Site in accordance with the choices you make. These Cookies permit us to “remember” you between visits. For instance, we will recognise your user name and remember how you customised the Site and services, for example by adjusting the languages and other parts of web pages that are alterable and provide you with the same customisations during future visits. Functionality Cookies are considered as “Necessary Cookies” as well.

Cookie type: Analytical/Performance Cookies
Purpose: These cookies are used to analyse how the Site is used and how it is performing. This helps us analyse data about the Site traffic and improve our Site. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes. For these purposes, Analytical Cookies collect information about your device type, operating system type, browser type, domain, other system settings, IP address, referring URLs, information on actions taken on the website and the dates and times of your visits, as well as the country and time zone in which your device is located. These cookies are provided by a third-party analytics tool provider (Piwik PRO [1]) and the information obtained through these cookies will be disclosed to, or collected directly by, this third-party service provider on behalf of PAI. Such Analytical/Performance Cookies make it possible to proceed to statistical measure hearing of the Site (involving a global monitoring of navigation) and improve the performance of the Site. As such, they are not considered as “Necessary Cookies” and are therefore subject to your consent. You should consult the privacy policies of the third-party service providers on their websites for information regarding their use of cookies.
