PAI Partners, a leading European private equity firm, today announces that it has hired Maud Brown as a Partner to lead its New York office as it continues to grow its activities in the region and expand the team globally.
Maud Brown joins from Investcorp where she spent more than 18 years, most recently as a Managing Director in New York and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. She has strong experience of both the European and North American private equity markets, having also worked in Investcorp’s London office for 12 years, and has specific expertise in Business Services, which is one of PAI’s key investment sectors. Maud is a strong addition to the PAI New York office which, over the last few years, has been very active in providing support to portfolio companies looking to reinforce their position in North America.
PAI has now increased the size of its team by a total of 21 professionals worldwide since early 2018 and the close of its €5.1 billion PAI Europe VII fund. This includes three new Partners (Maud Brown in the US; Simone Cavalieri in Italy who joined from Charme Capital; and Laura Muries in Spain, who was promoted from Principal), an enlarged Investment Group with 13 new recruits, a reinforced Portfolio Performance Group with the recent hire of Séverine de Wulf from Spencer Stuart, and the continued growth of the London office as a significant magnet for attracting international talent with the arrival, for example, of Neil McIlroy from H.I.G Capital.
Frédéric Stévenin, Partner and CIO at PAI Partners, commented: “We are delighted that Maud has chosen to join PAI as we continue to expand our activities in the US and globally. We have extensive experience of helping businesses grow internationally and we look forward to working with Maud to further reinforce this capability in North America. We have strengthened the PAI team significantly in the last two years, which puts us in a very good position to deliver on the many opportunities ahead.”
Maud Brown commented: “I am proud to be joining PAI at this time of rapid expansion for the business. Its reputation for developing companies internationally is second to none and there are many opportunities in North America for a firm with PAI’s track record. I look forward to leading the team’s efforts as it continues to pursue its ambitious objectives in the region.”
