Meet the team
Claudia Cuellar
Investment Officer, Mid-Market Fund
Claudia joined PAI in 2021 as a member of the Mid-Market Fund Team. She has been involved in the Nuzoa and Uvesco investments.
She joined from Credit Suisse in London, where she worked for three years in M&A across multiple sectors.
Claudia holds a BSc in International Management and French from the University of Bath.
Nacho García-Altozano
Partner
Nacho joined PAI in 2024 and is Head of the Flagship Fund Team in Spain.
He joined from Cinven, where he spent seven years, with the last four as a Senior Principal based in Madrid. During his time at Cinven, Nacho participated in many transactions across different sectors, including Consumer and Business Services.
Nacho previously worked as an Investment Director at Bridgepoint for five years. Prior to this, he worked in investment banking and leveraged finance at UBS, Merrill Lynch and ING.
Nacho graduated in Business Administration from CUNEF in Madrid.
José María García-Pont
Executive Director, Mid-Market Fund
José joined PAI in 2020 as a member of the Mid-Market Fund Team. He has been involved in the Angulas Aguinaga, Nuzoa and Uvesco investments.
He has extensive experience of the mid-market segment, having worked in the space since 2014, most notably at Abac Capital in Spain, where he was focused on the origination, execution, financing, monitoring and divestment of several deals.
Prior to that, he worked at the Boston Consulting Group as an Associate Consultant for two years.
José holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management (Boston) as well as a Bachelor’s Degree and a MSc in Business Administration from ESADE Business School (Barcelona).
Victor Marroquin
Investment Officer, Mid-Market Fund
Victor joined PAI in 2022 as a member of the Mid-Market Fund Team. He has been involved in the Nuzoa, Uvesco and VITREA investments.
Prior to joining the MMF Team, he completed several internships including one at PAI, another as a Strategy Consultant at Metyis and two others as a Financial Analyst at Accuracy and EY in Spain.
Victor graduated from Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) with a BEng and MSc in Industrial Engineering and holds a MSc in Management and International Finance from HEC Paris. He also completed an exchange programme at Grenoble INP (UGA) in France.
Alvaro Molina de Ena
Investment Director
Alvaro joined PAI in 2025 as a Director in the Investment Group. He is also part of the Spain Team.
He joined from EQT Partners, where he was a Vice President in London, covering growth & buyout investments in Technology across EMEA, with a focus in Spain.
Previously, Alvaro worked at Warburg Pincus for over three years, where he was involved in growth & buyout investments across several sectors, including Technology, Education and Consumer. Alvaro started his career in investment banking at J.P. Morgan in London.
Alvaro holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), and also simultaneously pursued Bachelor’s degrees in both Politics and Economics through UNED.
Laura Muries
Partner
Laura joined PAI in 2007 and today serves as Chief of Staff for the firm’s Management Committee.
Laura was appointed to this role in 2025 and supports the Management Committee in further leading PAI’s transformation and steering the strategic agenda of the firm, together with the Partnership.
Laura previously headed the Flagship Fund Team in Spain for six years. She has been involved in several transactions including Areas, DomusVi, Grupo Cortefiel, Grupo Konecta, Swissport, The Nuance Group and Tendam.
She started her career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch in Madrid, working principally with financial sponsor clients on the execution of buy-side, sell-side and IPO transactions.
Laura graduated in Business Administration and Law from the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid.
Mateo Pániker
Founding Partner, Mid-Market Fund
Mateo joined PAI in 2020 as one of the Founding Partners of the Mid-Market Fund Team. He has been involved in the Angulas Aguinaga, Nuzoa and Uvesco investments.
He has strong experience in the Spanish and international private equity markets, having previously been with Ventura Equity Partners, where he was a Founding Partner, and spent close to 12 years at Investindustrial, where he was a Senior Principal in the Spanish office and a member of the Investment Committee. He has also worked as an Investment Executive at Corsabe Capital and started his career in investment banking at Citi.
Mateo holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Miguel Vaquerizo
Vice President, Mid-Market Fund
Miguel joined PAI in 2023 as a member of the Mid-Market Fund Team. He has been involved in the Nuzoa investment.
He joined from L-GAM, where he spent over two years as an Investment Associate in the London office. Prior to that, he worked as a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in Spain for more than three years.
Miguel holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
