Meet the team
Matthew Johnson
Managing Director
Matthew joined PAI in 2020 as a member of the Capital Markets Team in the Client & Capital Group.
He joined PAI from Credit Suisse where he was most recently a Vice President in EMEA Leveraged Finance Capital Markets. Matt’s role involved underwriting and syndicating primary high-yield bonds and leveraged loans on behalf of private equity backed companies and sub investment grade corporate issuers. Prior to that, Matt held positions in the Financial Institutions Group and Leveraged Finance and Sponsors Group in New-York and in London, having joined the firm in 2014.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science from the Haas School of Business at the University of Berkeley in California.
Matthew Craddy
Managing Director
Matthew joined PAI in 2025 as a member of the PAI Performance Group, specialising in Digital Transformation and Process Excellence.
With 25 years of industry and management consulting experience, he excels in enhancing end-to-end customer experiences and optimising middle and back-office operations by leveraging a diverse set of levers, including Digital and AI technologies, Shared Service Centres, and Lean methodologies.
His career includes operational leadership roles at GE Capital and over a decade at McKinsey & Company where he was a Partner. Additionally, Matthew has held various roles at Publicis Sapient, PwC, and Voca Link.
He holds an MBA and an MSc in Management Science & Operational Research from Warwick Business School, as well as a BEng in Manufacturing Engineering from Warwick University.
Matthew Jones
Investment Associate
Matthew joined PAI in 2024 as a member of the Investment Group.
He joined from Evercore where he spent two years as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Industrials Group.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Business Analytics from Villanova University.
Matthew Poole
Principal
Matthew joined PAI in 2019 and is a member of the UK Team. He has been involved in the Azets, Froneri and The Compleat Food Group investments.
He started his career in the Investment Banking Division of Barclays in London, where he spent four years in the UK M&A advisory team. During his time at Barclays, Matthew also undertook a secondment to UK Government Investments, the government’s centre of expertise in corporate finance and governance, where he worked on a number of cross-Whitehall projects and transactions.
Matthew graduated from the University of Bristol with a first class Master’s Degree in Engineering.
